Images, PDFs, audio and video — cut into exactly the pieces you need, in seconds, on your own device. The browser is the workbench; your machine is the cutting mat.

three cuts, start to finish

  1. 0 cm

    Drop the file

Drag it straight onto the mat. It opens in this tab and goes nowhere else.

  2. 1 cm

    Place your cuts

A grid, a page range, a marker on the waveform, an in and out point.

  3. 2 cm

    Split & download

Every piece lands in your downloads folder — zipped if there's more than one.

common questions

Are split.tools utilities really free?

Yes — every tool is free with no accounts, no watermarks, and no file-size tiers. Because files are processed on your own device, there are no per-file server costs to pass on.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. All splitting happens locally in your browser using standard web APIs. You can verify this in your browser's network inspector, or by using the tools with your internet connection turned off.

What can I split?

Images (into grids and tiles), PDFs (by picked pages, ranges, or fixed chunks), audio (into tracks at markers or silences), and video (into clips marked on a timeline).

Do the tools work offline?

Once a tool's page has loaded, the splitting itself runs without a connection — the clearest proof that nothing is uploaded.

why it's fast

The mat is your machine.

There is no server on the other end. Files are opened, cut and repacked by your own browser — which is why a 200-page contract or a full-resolution photo splits the moment you press the button, and why nothing sensitive ever needs to leave the room.
